YAVA / Sectors

Where systems cannot afford to fail.

We work in sectors where technology is part of daily operations and the cost of failure is measured in safety, revenue, security or public service.

Nine sectors

Who we work with, and what we do for them.

Each sector below sets out the type of client, the problem we are usually brought in to solve, the services that apply and the result.

01 Government and public sector

Ministries, transport authorities, regulators and municipal operators.

Relevant YAVA services

System design, public sector platforms, records and case management, integration between agencies, procurement and tender support, 24 hour support.

The result

Services that stay available, records that hold together and one team answerable for the whole environment.

The operational problem

Systems bought department by department, with no single owner of the whole environment and long term reliability at risk.

02 Aviation and airports

Civil aviation authorities, airport operators, ground handling, cargo and maintenance organisations.

Relevant YAVA services

Revenue management and reconciliation, operational systems, security and surveillance integration, airside and landside network design, 24 hour support.

The result

Revenue recorded accurately, operations visible in one place and systems supported around the clock.

The operational problem

Revenue, operational and security systems that do not talk to each other, and downtime that is measured in flights.

03 Ports and logistics

Container terminals, maritime infrastructure operators and supply chain corridors.

Relevant YAVA services

Control system integration, customs and terminal workflows, surveillance, network separation, on site deployment around live operations.

The result

Throughput maintained, control networks separated properly and losses reduced at the gate and the yard.

The operational problem

Automation and control systems connected to business networks, with no room to stop throughput while work is carried out.

04 Energy and industrial

Refineries, terminals, distribution networks, mining and processing operators.

Relevant YAVA services

Operational technology and asset monitoring, control and business network separation, security integration, field engineering at remote sites.

The result

Assets monitored properly, control systems protected and engineers who can reach the site.

The operational problem

Remote sites with limited local technical support, ageing control systems and physical security spread over a large area.

05 Hotels and hospitality

Hotel groups, resorts and asset managers.

Relevant YAVA services

Property and booking platform integration, payment estate work, surveillance and access control, guest network separation, RIP assessment and remediation.

The result

Fewer incidents, guest data handled properly and a stronger position with the insurer at renewal.

The operational problem

Property management, payments, guest Wi-Fi, surveillance and access systems bought separately and never joined up.

06 Insurance and underwriting

Underwriters, managing general agents, brokers and risk engineers.

Relevant YAVA services

RIP assessment at the asset, scoring out of 100, loss pathway analysis, insurer ready brief, remediation delivery and reassessment.

The result

Evidence to price against, a defensible file at claim stage and a measurable change in the risk between renewals.

The operational problem

Submissions built on questionnaires and documents, which show what should be in place rather than what is.

07 Defence and security

Defence primes, security operators and government security agencies.

Relevant YAVA services

Tender and bid support, technology sourcing through vetted suppliers, surveillance and mobility integration, co-delivery and white label arrangements.

The result

A credible technical answer in the bid and a partner who can deliver it under export control and compliance requirements.

The operational problem

Technology requirements inside tenders that need a delivery partner who can source, integrate and support the equipment.

08 Startups and growth companies

Venture backed startups, technology scale ups and digital platform businesses.

Relevant YAVA services

Bespoke software, web and mobile platforms, cloud infrastructure, data and reporting, retained support after launch.

The result

A production grade platform, an architecture that scales and engineers who stay with it.

The operational problem

Platforms that need to survive past their first year, built by a team that will still be there after launch.

09 SMEs and private sector

Mid sized enterprises and private businesses.

Relevant YAVA services

Business and workflow systems, IT infrastructure and support, CCTV and access control, integration between existing tools.

The result

Systems that fit the business, priced for the markets we serve.

The operational problem

Custom software, IT and operational technology needs that are too small for a large integrator and too complex for a single supplier.
