Careers / Engineering

Engineering careers.

The work is practical. You design and build, then take it to the site and make it work in the real environment. Roles span office, remote and on-site.

Disciplines

Where engineers fit.

These are the disciplines YAVA works across. Specific roles are advertised on the current opportunities page when open.

Software engineers

Building the bespoke software and platforms that run client operations.

Backend and platform engineers

Services, data and the platform layer that everything else depends on.

Infrastructure engineers

Networks, cloud and hybrid environments, servers, storage and recovery.

Systems engineers

Making separate technologies behave as one integrated system.

Operational technology engineers

CCTV, access control, sensors, control systems and hardware integration.

Cybersecurity professionals

Assessment, hardening and resilience across physical, cyber and human layers.

Product designers

Interfaces and user experience for platforms used in real operations.

Technical programme managers

Holding delivery together across software, infrastructure and field work.

Field engineers

On-site installation, commissioning and support, often in demanding conditions.

Not all disciplines are hiring at any given time. This page describes the kinds of engineering YAVA does, not a set of open vacancies.

The nature of the work

Office, remote and on site.

Much of the software and platform work is done from the Kolkata Technology and Innovation Centre and remotely. Integration, commissioning and support happen at the asset, which can mean travel to remote or high-risk sites. We are clear about which roles involve deployment before you apply.
