Government and public sector

Overview

YAVA helps public bodies design, integrate and run the systems that citizens and services depend on, with one team answerable for the whole environment rather than a department at a time.

Ministries, transport authorities, regulators, agencies and municipal operators.

Government and public sector operational environment

The environment

What this setting is like.

Government technology tends to be bought department by department, over many years, under procurement rules that favour the familiar. The result is a large estate of overlapping systems, some of them old, that no single team fully understands and no single supplier is accountable for.

Risk and resilience

Public services are a target and a single point of failure. We design for continuity and recovery, separate what should be separated, and evidence the security position rather than assuming it.

Operational and technical challenges

Where it goes wrong.

  • Systems bought in isolation, with no owner of the whole environment
  • Legacy systems that cannot simply be switched off
  • Integration between agencies that hold different records
  • Long-term reliability and support that must survive changes of supplier

Systems we work on

What YAVA can assess, design, integrate, build or support.

The mix depends on the asset. YAVA is an integrator, not a single-product vendor, and selects equipment against the requirement from a vetted supplier network.

  • Case and records management
  • Inter-agency integration and data sharing
  • Public-facing and operational platforms
  • Identity and access
  • Networks and infrastructure
  • Security and surveillance integration
  • Service desk and 24 hour support

How YAVA delivers

Delivery.

We usually begin with advisory or discovery to map the estate, then integrate and modernise in stages that do not disrupt live services. Work is delivered inside existing procurement frameworks where required, and supported afterwards.

One accountable team

Advice, build, integration, deployment and support come from one team, so there is a single point of accountability for the whole environment.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can YAVA work inside our existing procurement framework?

Yes. We routinely deliver inside existing frameworks and alongside incumbent suppliers, without disrupting the programme.

Can you modernise legacy systems without downtime?

We modernise in stages and integrate old and new so services stay available while the estate is brought up to date.

Can your engineers reach remote and high-risk sites?

Yes. A significant part of our field team is used to working at remote and difficult sites in demanding conditions with limited support.

Do you work around live operations?

Yes. We plan and deploy around live operations so that services and throughput continue while work is carried out.

Who supports the systems once they are live?

The team that delivers the work also supports it, with service levels including out-of-hours cover agreed in advance.

Can you work within our compliance and procurement rules?

Yes. We deliver inside existing frameworks and under the applicable compliance, data and, where relevant, export-control requirements.
