Insurance and risk

Overview

YAVA gives insurers engineering-led evidence of what is actually in place at an asset, scored and defensible, and can deliver the remediation that improves the risk.

Underwriters, managing general agents, brokers and risk engineers.

Insurance and risk operational environment

The environment

What this setting is like.

Underwriting decisions are often made on questionnaires and documents, which show what should be in place rather than what is. When a claim comes, the file may not stand up. Insurers need observed risk, not declared risk.

Risk and resilience

This work is risk and resilience. It turns an underwriting position from assumption into evidence, and gives the asset owner a prioritised plan to reduce exposure.

Operational and technical challenges

Where it goes wrong.

  • Submissions built on questionnaires rather than inspection
  • A gap between declared controls and observed controls
  • Files that may not hold up at claim stage
  • No route from finding a problem to fixing it

Systems we work on

What YAVA can assess, design, integrate, build or support.

The mix depends on the asset. YAVA is an integrator, not a single-product vendor, and selects equipment against the requirement from a vetted supplier network.

  • RIP assessment at the asset
  • Scoring out of 100 and loss pathway analysis
  • Insurer-ready briefs
  • Remediation delivery and reassessment
  • Portfolio-level risk intelligence

How YAVA delivers

Delivery.

Engineers assess the asset on site, score it, and produce an insurer-ready brief. Where the client wants it, the same team delivers remediation and rescores, so the risk measurably changes between renewals.

One accountable team

Advice, build, integration, deployment and support come from one team, so there is a single point of accountability for the whole environment.

Applicable experience

Evidence.

Representative work relevant to this sector. Some engagements are anonymised by client where confidentiality requires it. YAVA does not publish invented clients, projects or results.

FAQ

Common questions.

How is this different from a standard survey?

It is engineering-led and evidenced on site, scored out of 100, and connected to remediation that can actually be delivered.

Can YAVA fix what it finds?

Yes. The same engineers can deliver the remediation and reassess the asset, so the risk changes rather than just being recorded.

Can your engineers reach remote and high-risk sites?

Yes. A significant part of our field team is used to working at remote and difficult sites in demanding conditions with limited support.

Do you work around live operations?

Yes. We plan and deploy around live operations so that services and throughput continue while work is carried out.

Who supports the systems once they are live?

The team that delivers the work also supports it, with service levels including out-of-hours cover agreed in advance.

Can you work within our compliance and procurement rules?

Yes. We deliver inside existing frameworks and under the applicable compliance, data and, where relevant, export-control requirements.
