YAVA · Risk Intelligence
From declared risk to observed risk.
YAVA helps insurers, brokers, asset owners and operators understand how risk appears in practice, beyond questionnaires and assumptions.
The methodology
RIP. Risk Intelligence Platform.
Most assets appear secure. In practice, they're not. Underwriting, investment and operational decisions still rely heavily on what is declared — questionnaires, vendor contracts, architecture documents, CTO interviews. Loss happens in what isn't.
YAVA's Risk Intelligence Platform is a productised, engineering-led assessment methodology that produces evidence-based reports for clients who need ground truth. We assess across three layers, score them on a defensible model, and where required, remediate the findings.
The methodology has been deployed across hospitality, ports, energy, government and defence-adjacent assets. It is used by underwriters, MGAs, risk engineers, infrastructure investors, asset owners and operators.
Three layers, one report
One unified risk view.
External
Where access becomes risk
Physical perimeter and access control. Determines whether an event can be evidenced and a claim can be defended.
-
Perimeter surveillance & coverage
-
Access control and biometrics
-
Guard movement and patrol systems
-
Visitor and contractor management
-
Time-sync and evidence retention
-
Remote monitoring security
Internal
Where systems become loss
Cyber, network and operational systems. The layer where most technology failure converts directly into financial loss.
Network architecture & segmentation
Identity and privileged access
Core operational systems (PMS, ERP, OT)
Wireless, VPN and remote access
Backup, logging and recovery
Cloud configuration and exposure
Training
Where behaviour breaks control
Human-control and operating discipline. Determines whether well-designed systems actually work under pressure.
-
Credential handling discipline
-
Access governance behaviour
-
Incident response & escalation
-
Threat awareness and reporting
-
Privileged access usage
-
MFA discipline across systems
Output
Evidence, not opinion.
The deliverable is a structured RIP Score Report covering all three layers, scored on a 100-point scale, with prioritised loss-pathway analysis and a remediation roadmap. The report is defensible to underwriters, sharable with brokers and actionable by operations teams.
For insurers, this changes underwriting from declared-data assumptions to evidence-based pricing. For asset owners, it produces an honest map of what's working, what isn't and what to fix first. For investors, it surfaces operational risk that data-room documents miss.
Where remediation is required, YAVA's engineering team can deliver it. The same partner that found the issues can fix them. Risk identification and risk reduction in one engagement.
