This weekend, Team YAVA took part in the 2025 NAVEX Air Rally, competing alongside fifteen other aircraft in one of East Africa’s most demanding and respected aviation events.
Flying a Cessna 172, the YAVA crew joined pilots from across the region for a rally designed to test real-world aviation skills. Precision navigation, accurate timing and disciplined teamwork were central to the challenge, with no reliance on GPS, autopilot systems or shortcuts. The event reflects the highest standards of airmanship, safety and decision-making under pressure.
Despite low cloud and strong winds in the early stages of the day, conditions improved as the rally progressed, allowing the crews to complete a demanding course observed by hundreds of spectators at Wilson Airport and along the route. The atmosphere combined technical focus with a strong sense of community across the aviation sector.
After a full day of tight turns, careful navigation and sustained concentration, Team YAVA was proud to return with a trophy, marking a strong performance in a highly competitive field.

Participation in events such as the NAVEX Air Rally reflects YAVA’s broader culture of precision, resilience and operational discipline qualities that underpin its work across complex environments and emerging markets.
